Colorado Springs standoff ends in arrest

Suspect found, but not at his home

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo - After an hours long standoff in Colorado Springs, the man police were looking for answered his cell phone and told officers he was not at home.

Police were trying to track down Gregory Anderson, 29, after obtaining a warrant for him on charges of domestic violence stalking and violating a restraining order.

Officers arrived at his home at 416 1/2 Iowa Avenue, near Platte and Boulder, at about 4 p.m. Tuesday  after getting information that he was there. Eventually the SWAT team was called in, and K-9 units, a flash-bang, and a loudspeaker were utilized throughout the evening.

Streets around the home were shut down for several hours.

Police said they had been trying to call Anderson's cell phone, and he eventually answered close to 9 p.m. and told officers he was near Circle and Galley. He agreed to meet with police and was arrested.
