Family of 10 displaced by fire

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. - The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says a mobile home that caught fire Wednesday (10/16/13) was home to four adults and six children.

The fire happened at the Oakwood Estates Mobile Home Park off of Highway 96. It was reported at 11:44 a.m.

One person suffered minor injuries in the fire, and two pets were killed. One of the family's vehicles was also damaged.

Pueblo Rural Fire Captain Walt Williams says the family is very fortunate that no one was seriously hurt. "As we arrived we could see flames coming from the roof of the structure. The adults in this home did a great job getting themselves and the children out quickly and then calling 911," Williams said.

The Red Cross is assisting the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
