Hundreds turn out for Pooches in Pink

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Hundreds of people in southern Colorado put their pups in pink to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The theme of the fundraiser for breast cancer research centered around some well dressed dogs. The dog walk around Rock Ledge Ranch also raises awareness.

Some dogs were forced to wear tu-tus, crowns and pink wigs to appease their owners.

"Everyone is just happy to be here," said Patty Borish, Operations Director for the event. "We're happy to make an impact. happy to make a difference in our mission of a world without breast cancer."

Event organizers say they had a bigger turnout than they were expecting this year

The dog walk is the precursor to the actual Komen for the Cure run/walk which begins Sunday at 8 a.m. at Garden of the Gods Park.
