Longmont officer arrested in sex assault case

LONGMONT, Colo. - A 12-year Longmont police veteran has been arrested on suspicion of felony sexual assault.

Officer Chris Martinchick was arrested Wednesday after Larimer County investigators informed police that a complaint had been filed. He turned himself in at the Larimer County Jail and is facing two counts of felony sexual assault and two counts of misdemeanor invasion of privacy for sexual gratification.
Police said in a statement that the alleged incident happened while Martinchick was off duty in Loveland and involved a woman he knew.
