Man gets 80-year term in stabbing death of girl

BRIGHTON, Colo. - A man who pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing a 14-year-old Commerce City girl has been sentenced to 80 years in prison.

The Denver Post reports Ezequiel Padilla-Villalobos was sentenced Tuesday in the December death of Gabriela Acosta, who was his girlfriend's sister.
Adams County District Judge Katherine Delgado, who sentenced Padilla-Villalobos, told him she was "angry beyond words."
The 24-year-old Padilla-Villalobos pleaded guilty in September to second-degree murder and second-degree kidnapping of a child. In exchange, prosecutors dropped a first-degree murder charge.
Police said Padilla-Villalobos told investigators his girlfriend had asked him to pick up the girl from their mother's house in Broomfield and that he had thoughts of killing the girl while he was driving.
He also said he had beer and cocaine before the slaying.
