Mission: Healthy Babies

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - KRDO Newschannel 13 is teaming up with the March of Dimes Colorado Chapter to help pregnant moms who are in the military, or the partner of a military member.

While having a baby is a joyful experience, it is also one that comes with anxiety and concerns.  Being in the military -- whether as a serviceperson or as the partner of a serviceperson -- can cause extra stress. Very high levels of stress, such as the stress caused by a deployment, may contribute to premature birth or low birthweight in full-term babies.   Recognizing that this is an important need, the March of Dimes, in partnership with the VFW, created Mission: Healthy Baby®, a program designed specifically for military families that provides free pregnancy and newborn health information and support services. It helps them have one less thing to worry about and to have healthy, full-term babies.

As part of Mission: Healthy Baby®, we recognize the sacrifices of military moms-to-be and bring educational baby showers to military families who may not otherwise have a baby shower as often many are far away from home.

We will be holding one of these exciting baby showers for military moms to be and welcome you to purchase diapers that will be donated to these deserving families at the event on Friday, December 13th

If you would like to donate diapers please drop them off by December 11th at your local March of Dimes office located at 421 S Tejon Street, Stuite 310.

These educational baby showers are the perfect way for us to give back and help our military families connect with one another and celebrate their growing families.
