Student accused of making 'kill list' won't return to Pueblo West school

PUEBLO WEST, Colo. - An elementary school student will not be returning to school in Pueblo West after being accused of creating a kill list.

Greg Keasling, director of student services for the Pueblo County School District, met with the student on Tuesday and decided the student won't be attending classes anymore at Sierra Vista Elementary School.

The student reportedly behind the list was suspended last Tuesday after he was found to have written a list that described how he planned to harm and kill at least 10 students, Keasling said.

The school board will vote next Tuesday whether the student should be expelled. Keasling said the board is expected to support his decision.

Keasling said the student will continue to work with teachers in the district and added that the district offers alternative education programs, including online courses.

There is no threat to the public, according to Keasling.
