Suspicious fire engulfs Ellicott home

Colo. Springs, CO - A house fire was reported at 4590 Pipestem Dr. just before 12 a.m.  When crews arrived the home was fully engulfed.

Deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to help evacuate neighboring homes as a precaution.

A spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff's office says that the fire is suspicious, but could provide no further information at this time.

One man was inside the home when the fire started.  He was safely evacuated.  There were no injuries reported.

This is the second suspicious fire at that address.  The first fire was exactly two weeks prior on October 23.

That fire was contained to just one room.  The cause is still under investigation.  If you have any information you are asked to call the El Paso County Sheriff's Office at (719) 390-5555.
