TRINIDAD, Colo. - The Trinidad Police Department announced on Tuesday the arrest of 15 people on drug related charges. Police are still looking for one suspect.
According to Trinidad Police, the arrests are the result of undercover narcotics operations that have taken place over the past several months within the city of Trinidad and at various locations within Las Animas County.
During the investigation cocaine, methamphetamines and various types of narcotic pills were purchased from individuals at various locations to include local liquor establishments in the city and county, police said.
"Investigations like this are time consuming and can be very dangerous. I am proud of our detective staff for their dedication and persistence during this investigation," said Chief Charles Glorioso. "The truth is drugs are a problem nationwide. It is unreasonable to think that Trinidad doesn't share this problem. Our police department continuously works to solve the problem," said Glorioso.
Officers say residents of Trinidad can help the police department by reporting suspicious activity. You can call the police department directly, call the TIPS line, send an email, or send a letter through standard mail. All calls, emails and letters sent to the police department are investigated, according to police.
