Woman dies after slamming car into tree

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. - The Colorado State Patrol says a woman was killed when she crashed her car into a tree off of I-25 north of Monument.

The crash happened at 6 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013.

Troopers say the unidentified woman was driving a black 2013 Hyundai Sedan northbound on I-25.

The car went off the road near the Greenland exit and slammed into a tree.

Troopers say the woman was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Investigators have not determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
