Colorado's new logo, aimed at increasing tourism and economic development, could soon start showing up on a variety of products made and designed in the state.
The Denver Post reports Brand Colorado is launching a royalty-free licensing program this week called "By Colorado" for businesses and others interested in including the new logo on their products and in marketing.
Aaron Kennedy, the state's chief marketing officer, says "basically, companies will be applying to use the seal that says, 'My product is Colorado-made.'"
Federally illegal products, such as marijuana; those that would reflect poorly on the state, such as adult entertainment; or those that are overtly controversial will be excluded from participating.
The new logo with a snow-capped green mountain was unveiled in August.
