Colorado Springs man arrested for attempted murder

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs police arrested a man Tuesday who was wanted for attempted murder.

Police say they got a tip that Zachary Ryan Lawhead was inside a home near 2200 N. Union Blvd. Police set up outside around 1 p.m. and saw Lawhead get into his car.

When police tried to approach Lawhead, he took off on foot and was caught after a brief chase in the 2200 block of Robin Dr. (MAP) Nobody was injured in the chase.

During the chase, Lawhead dropped a bag with a stolen handgun and drugs inside, according to police.

We're working to get more information on the attempted murder charge.
