1 Carmel middle school student injured after kid brings bb gun, knife to school

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Carmel Middle School parents were emailed a letter on Wednesday, notifying them that a student had brought a bb gun and a knife to school that morning.

At around 8:15 a.m., the bb gun was accidentally fired just outside the building, grazing the leg of one of the other students.

A staff member was notified and both weapons were seized.

District administrators and the District nurse examined the student hit by the bb and contacted the student’s parents.

Police were also contacted immediately by school administrators.

"Police arrived promptly, investigated the incident and will handle accordingly. School continued normally while the situation was handled," the Harrison School District said in the email.
