2 teens go on crime spree in COS following escape from Youth Corrections facility

COLORADO SPRINGS - Two teens have been arrested in connection to a series of crimes committed in Colorado Springs at the end of June and the beginning of July including aggravated robbery and attempted murder. 

Marcus Elliot, 18, and a 16-year-old were arrested on July 10. The crime spree started after they escaped from the Colorado Department of Youth Corrections on June 27.

Following their escape, the two were involved in the following crimes:

  • June 28 Motor Vehicle Theft of a white Nissan Sentra
  • Robberies on July 2 at the 7-Eleven located off E. Fillmore Street and the Kum and Go off Hancock Expressway.
  • Person robbed off Dublin Boulevard also on July 2
  • Robbery on July 4 at the 7-Eleven located off N. Academy Blvd
  • Person robbed and carjacked on July 6 off Airport Road

The two teens were charged with numerous counts of aggravated robbery. 

Elliot was also charged with attempted murder after he shot at two people on July 2 along I-25 during a road rage incident. The victims did not get hit and are OK.
