26-yr-old arrested for attempted murder

COLORADO SPRINGS - A 26-year-old was arrested over the weekend after a woman in Colorado Springs reported that he tried to strangle her.

Police responded to the 1100 block of South Chelton Road at around 6:48 a.m. on August 26 to investigate a domestic disturbance. 

The victim told police she was strangled by her 26-year-old boyfriend, Jerral Barnett Ford. 

The woman was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Section, Domestic Violence & Adult Sexual Assault (DVASA) Unit, responded and assumed the investigation.

Ford was arrested later that day and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center for Sexual Assault, Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, and additional charges.
