COLORADO SPRINGS - Thirty-nine people from six countries will be able to vote as U.S. citizens.
With flags in hand, these new Americans pledged to their flag and received a piece of paper, certifying their citizenship on Thursday.
The ceremony was held at the Pikes Peak Library because more than 55 percent of new Americans use the public library at least once a week.
For these new citizens, this day couldn't come soon enough.
When asked many at the library said they're proud to finally get the opportunity to vote and to call America their permanent home.
