I-25 reopens after deadly crash

BREAKING: Possible auto-pedestrian...

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. -

State Patrol says a woman was killed after she was hit by an SUV while walking across I-25.

Investigators say the woman was walking across the highway near the south entrance to Fort Carson when she was hit by a Jeep Cherokee. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash had Southbound I-25 closed Mesa Ridge Pkwy Sunday for several hours.

“I was sitting over there on the access road, I heard a big boom, and a big dust pile went over the interstate,” said Randy Shank.

No one in the jeep was hurt. The pedestrian has not been identified.
