Air Force men’s basketball coach Dave Pilipovich and his wife, Kelly, have personally pledged to donate $1 to the American Cancer Society for every fan that attends the Air Force season opener Sunday, Nov. 12, vs. Texas State at 2 p.m.

The Pilipovich’s both lost a parent to cancer this year and wanted to help bring awareness and work towards a cure. Both have been active in the National Association of Basketball Coaches vs. Cancer programs and Kelly has joined the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program.

“Cancer is a dreadful disease that has affected so many of our families. We feel more needs to be done to help the fight,” Pilipovich said.

Air Force opens the season by hosting four home games as part of the Men Against Breast Cancer Showcase at the Academy. The Texas State game kicks off the event, followed by games vs. Canisius Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 5p.m., Arkansas-Pine Bluff Monday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. and Pacific on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m.
