Armed man involved in domestic disturbance crashes at Centennial Blvd.

COLROADO SPRINGS - A 37-year-old connected to a domestic disturbance was arrested after crashing his vehicle into a guard rail off Centennial Boulevard on Thursday morning. 

Police got a call at around 12:30 a.m. of a domestic disturbance involving a firearm in the 1700 block of Eyrie Drive. As officers were on their way, they were told that the suspect, later identified as Branden Kumley, had left the area in a white and brown Ford SUV.

Just minutes later, the CSPD Communications Center received a call about a white and brown Ford SUV crashing into a guard rail in the 3700 block of Centennial Boulevard. 

Police went to the crash scene, where a witness told them that a shotgun was inside Kumley's vehicle. 

As officers approached, Kumley did try to drive away, but the vehicle was too damaged from the crash. 

According to CSPD, Kumley was intoxicated and officers had to tackle him to the ground to make the arrest. 

Kumley is facing charges of Domestic Violence, DUI, and multiple misdemeanor charges.
