Baby Box program comes to Colorado

Several local and state health organizations are teaming up with Baby Box Co. to provide free boxes to the estimated 66,500 children who will be born in Colorado this year.

The box comes with several items new parents will need including diapers, baby wipes, a onesie, nursing pads and activity cards. The box itself, which is made of sturdy cardboard, can be used as a bed during the baby’s first few months.

It is similar to a program by the Finnish government that has been credited with drastically reducing the country’s infant death rates.

Parents have to complete a 10-15 minute education course. Then the box can be either picked up or delivered. You can sign up HERE.
