Barricaded suspect incident ends peacefully on north side of Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS - Colo. - Police responded to a barricaded suspect at a property near Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs on Tuesday.

Investigators confirm an armed man aggressively confronted officers and then ran into a home along the 4100 block of Edwinstowe Avenue.

"It's nerve-racking, they have all the cops here," said Kamarie Gonzales, a neighbor living in the area. "What if he goes out the back."

District 11 put Jackson Elementary School on precautionary lockdown during the standoff. Palmer High School was also on lockdown, but the lockdown was lifted shortly after being issued.

As of 4 p.m., the incident was cleared by police. We don't know if the suspect was arrested, but we do know that multiple people inside the home were arrested.
