COLORADO SPRINGS - Police are working to remove a car out of a Cheyenne Mountain Resort pool.

We got word about the incident at around 8:45 a.m. on Monday.

The driver, who is in her 70s, told police that her brakes weren't working.

She apparently hit the gas instead, drove up the hill, hit a fence, went airborne, and eventually landed in the pool

She was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.

A man walking in the area jumped into the pool to rescue the woman from her car.

Just before 3 p.m., the pool had been drained.

Crews were able to successfully remove the vehicle at around 5:20 p.m.
