Albany, GA - Crews from the Colorado Springs Fire Department are officially on their way to Orlando, Florida, to aid in hurricane relief efforts.
Colorado Task Force 1 left Albany, Georgia on Saturday, to begin the roughly 300 mile journey. The group is a Type 1 FEMA Task Force with 90 team members all together.
They are currently traveling and partnered with a team from Arizona, as they prepare for Hurricane Irma.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department reports that all members are in good health and good spirits as they have received the necessary rest, food, and briefings over the last couple days.
