Colorado Springs Firefighters Battle Homeless Camp Brush Fire

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado Springs Fire Department worked to put out a homeless camp brush fire near South Academy Boulevard and Pikes Peak Avenue, Saturday morning.

Crews say the fire was 50 feet by 50 feet and threatened one structure, CubeSmart Storage Facility.

One person was taken to the hospital for burns.

CSFD had the fire under control within minutes, although the wind was a concern. The smoke caused traffic backups, but there were no reported accidents.
