Colorado Springs PD: 2 teens arrested for robbing woman at gunpoint on Halloween

COLORADO SPRINGS - Two teens have been arrested for robbing a woman at gunpoint on Halloween.

Terrance Hester, 18, and a 17-year-old approached a woman near South Murray Boulevard and Sandpiper Drive at around 8:08 p.m. on Tuesday night. They pointed a gun at her and demanded that she hand over her purse.

Just two hours earlier, the teens were seen driving a silver SUV in the 6300 block of Galway Drive. They pulled up next to a man walking and pointed a gun at him, demanding his cell phone. The victim told police that he told them no, so the suspects drove off.

Colorado Springs police eventually spotted the SUV and arrested the two men. Inside the vehicle, officers found the stolen purse, which turned out to be full of Halloween candy. They also found the weapon near the vehicle.

Hester and the 17-year-old were arrested on charges of attempted aggravated robbery and aggravated robbery.
