Colorado Springs teen dies in late night crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A Colorado Springs teenage is dead after a crash in the Black Forest Area.

The crash happened around 12:30 Saturday morning near Vollmer and Tannenbaum Road. Colorado State Patrol says the driver lost control of his car and hit several trees before being thrown out of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Colorado State Patrol has identified the victim as 18-year-old Samuel Laib.

Right now, speed is considered a factor in the crash. There is no evidence of alcohol or drug use.

The crash remains under investigation.
