Group evacuated from Broadmoor Church fire

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Colorado Springs Fire Department had to evacuate a group of people from the Broadmoor Church on Saturday morning after a portion of it set on fire.

CSFD got the call from 15 Lake Avenue just before 11:30 a.m.

Crews told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that the fire started on the southeast side of the church, and it only caused damage to the outside.

The fire was out by 12:30 p.m.

As a precaution, at least four people were evacuated from the church.

Luckily, no one was injured.

Crews did have a difficult time extinguishing the fire because of the snow.

CSFD is currently investigating the cause. There is no sign of arson at this time.
