CSP investigating suspected DUI crash early Sunday morning

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - Colorado State Patrol is investigating a suspected DUI crash in El Paso County. 

It happened around 1 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Mesa Ridge Parkway and Marksheffel Road. 

Troopers said 60-year-old Fidel Heredia drove off the end of a "t-intersection" and hit an embankment. 

Heredia was not hurt in the crash. 

His passenger, 46-year-old Freddys Gonzalez Garcia was not wearing a seatbelt. 

Crews rushed him to the hospital with serious injuries.

Alcohol is expected to be a factor in the crash.
