CSP: Kids taken from New Hampshire found safe in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State Patrol said the three boys and one girl taken by their father, Matthew Giovanditto were found safe in Colorado Springs Saturday night.

A Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer found the 2015 white, Chevrolet Traverse pulling a camper at a Shell gas station at S. Academy and Highway 115.

After approaching the car, Giovanditto and the four kids were found inside.

No charges were pending from New Hampshire, so Giovanditto was released.

The kids were taken from Giovanditto's custody and given to a relative in the Colorado Springs area Saturday night.

Three boys ages 9, 8 and 5 along with a 3-year-old girl were reported missing by their mother in Salem, N.H. on September 11.

According to the Salem Police Department, the mother has full custodial rights granted to her by a New Hampshire court and had made an agreement with Giovanditto to take them for a short time while she got situated.
