CSPD notifies neighborhood about sexually violent predator

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado Springs Police Department says a sexually violent predator has registered at an address on the city's southeast side.

The police department says Larry Sims, 42, was previously convicted on multiple counts of sexual assault.

Sims is registered in the 3000 block of Starlight Circle, which is near S. Academy Boulevard and Hancock Expressway.

Police did not release a photo of Sims, but he is described as a black male who stands 5'9" tall and weighs 166 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Sims is one of 15 sexually violent predators registered in Colorado Springs.

State law requires police to notify neighbors whenever a sexually violent predator moves to a new address.
