EPSO: Airplane emergency reports unfounded

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office tells KRDO Newschannel 13 that reports of an aircraft emergency are unfounded.

Deputies say there are no signs of wreckage.

A pair of witnesses reported seeing black smoke trailing a small plane near the area of Rampart Reservoir.  One of those witnesses is a Teller County Deputy.

Deputies said local airports did not show any missing aircraft, or distress signs.

Crews will meet again Wednesday morning to decide if a search will continue.
