COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The father of an 11-year-old says his daughter was grabbed at Wildflower Park on Monday.
Jesse Bowman told KRDO NewsChannel 13 says his daughter looked like a "ghost" when she told him the story.
"She was flush, she was breathing heavy. She asked if, you know, if she could talk to me. She pulled me aside into the kitchen away from my son and that’s when she told me that someone had jumped out of the bushes while she was walking," Bowman said.
He said his 11-year-old was able to get away after hitting the suspect with a stick.
"She said he just came out, he physically grabbed her by the shoulder, spun her around and at that time she said she came up with a walking stick and hit him across the face," Bowman explained.
According to police traffic, the suspect was a black man in his 30's wearing an orange shirt. A sergeant at the Sand Creek police substation confirmed that a report was made but they are not actively searching for a suspect.
