Framework in place for new Children's Hospital in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS - A construction milestone was made on Thursday for the new Children's Hospital of Colorado in Colorado Springs.

The first steel was laid to make up the framework for the hospital.

The construction teams will finish foundations for the new hospital this month, and they will complete laying the steel framework in early 2018.

We spoke with a local leader for Children's, Greg Raymond.

“It's really motivating to see the building come to life, recognizing we have 600 team members here in Colorado Springs already. They're going to work this facility and to know this building is going to allow them to provide the next level of care and expertise to take care of kids,” explained Raymond.

The new Children's Hospital is scheduled to open in April of 2019.
