Lockdown lifted at King Soopers after police standoff in parking lot ends

Colorado Springs, Colo. - A person barricaded in the parking lot of a King Soopers in Colorado Springs put the store on lockdown.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office responded to the grocery store on Constitution Avenue and Marksheffel Road on Wednesday afternoon to investigate a person who was possibly suicidal.

When deputies arrived at the store, they found a man inside of a Jeep armed with several weapons. 

Nearby roads were closed to traffic.

After a short time of negotiating, deputies were able to convince the man to surrender peacefully and roads were reopened.

There were no injuries reported. 

The Sheriff's Office believes the man may be facing a sexual assault charge out of Fountain, but deputies are still investigating.
