Man dies while trying to enter gated driveway in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS - A 53-year-old man from Colorado Springs died sometime Wednesday night into Thursday morning after getting pinned in between his truck's door and the frame.

Dodd Johnson was getting out of his 2002 Ford F350 to open the gate to a property off Arrowhead Drive when his truck started to roll. Johnson tried to get back in the truck, but in the process, he found himself in between the door and the frame as the truck collided with a nearby tree.

Johnson died from his injuries.

He was drafted 14th overall by the Atlanta Braves in 1985.  For the next six years, Johnson held a career in the minors with five different teams. He went on to be a regional scout with Factory Athletics.
