COLORADO SPRINGS - A motorcyclist had to be rushed to the hospital after colliding with an SUV on Saturday night.
The crash happened at around 5 p.m.
Initial reports from police state that the SUV was making a left turn on to Institute Street off E. Pikes Peak Avenue when the oncoming motorcyclist traveling straight on Pikes Peak crashed into the SUV’s passenger side.
The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and was taken to Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV had minor injuries.
Police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash.
The intersection was closed for several hours and reopened at just after 11 p.m.
