National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day this weekend

COLORADO - National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is this Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

National Take-Back Day is a way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.

The Drug Enforcement Administration first launched its "Take-Back" day more than six years ago and since then has collected more than 8.1 million pounds of prescription drugs from the public.

Below is a list of collection sites across southern Colorado:

Colorado Springs:

El Paso County Household Hazardous Waste, 3255 Akers Drive.

Security Fire Station #1, 400 Security Boulevard.

Police Operations Center, 405 S. Nevada Avenue.

Memorial Hospital North, 4050 Briargate Parkway.

Pueblo:

Pueblo Police Department, 200 South Main Street.

South County Fire Station, 4495 Bent Brothers.

Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, 320 Joe Martinez Boulevard.

Pueblo Rural Fire Department, 29912 Highway 50 East.

Monument:

Monument Police Department, 645 Beacon Lite Road.

Woodland Park:

Woodland Park Police Department, 911 Tamarac Parkway.

Divide:

Teller County Training Facility, 320 Weaverville Road.

Castle Rock:

Castle Rock Police Department, 100 Perry Street.

Florence:

Florence Police Department, 600 West 3rd Street.

Canon City:

Canon City Police Department, 161 Justice Center Road.
