No charges to follow after vehicle hits pedestrian at Academy/Woodmen

COLORADO SPRINGS - No one will be charged in the vehicle-pedestrian accident that happened on N. Academy and Woodmen on Saturday night, according to the Colorado Springs police.

At just before 11 p.m., a pedestrian attempting to cross N. Academy was hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital and treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

CSPD has determined that the pedestrian was walking out of the crosswalk, so the driver will not face charges.

Northbound lanes of N. Academy Boulevard at the intersection with York Road were closed for a couple hours and reopened around 1:15 a.m.
