Felon arrested following manhunt just north of downtown COS

COLORADO SPRINGS - A wanted felon is in custody following a search just north of downtown Colorado Springs. 

The manhunt started when an officer tried to stop Clinton White, 26, while he was driving on West Van Buren Street Thursday afternoon, Colorado Springs police said.

White didn't stop and it lead to a chase. He struck a utility pole on a bike trail west of Monument Valley Park and then took off on foot, police said.

The manhunt went on for about two hours, but White was arrested with the help of a K9 unit. According to police, a passenger in his vehicle, Saul Cano, 20, was also taken into custody.


White was booked on a Vehicular Eluding charge, in addition to his previous warrant.

Officers also recovered a stolen handgun that was tossed during the chase.
