COLORADO SPRINGS - "Care and Share" food bank celebrated its fifth annual "Hunger's Hope Awards" on Wednesday.
The award recognizes community supporters who help those in need of food.
This year's winners are Pikes Peak Workforce Center, Security Service Federal Credit Union, and Colorado Farm Table, just to name a few.
The honorees helped Care and Share garner support in their mission to bridge the gap of hunger and abundance.
“So many people go unrecognized for their amazing and important work that they are doing, that we want to be able to recognize a few of these people every year and show them how very grateful we are and the community are for what they do,” said Lynee Telford, CEO of Care and Share.
“To have Care and Share honor us for each carrier who handles that little part, and it's an incredible feeling,” said Mark Robins with Post Office 204.
Students from District 39 handcrafted all nine of the honorees' awards.
