Student driver crashes into restaurant in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Police are on scene investigating a crash at Ivy's Chinese Cafe on Ridgeline Drive in the Northgate area.

The car jumped the curb and crashed through the front of the cafe, driving several feet into the facility before coming to a stop.

Officers say a 16-year-old student driver was behind the wheel, and her father was in the passenger's seat. It's unclear exactly what led to the crash at this point.

No one inside the restaurant was hurt from the crash, and the driver and passenger were both evaluated by medical personnel and released.

Police have not said whether the teen will be cited for the accident. Officers are speaking to witnesses right now.
