Suspected car thieves crash vehicle during short pursuit in COS

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Two suspects have been arrested, and two are still on the loose, after a chase and crash early Monday morning in Colorado Springs.

It happened near N. Academy Boulevard and Village Road South around 1:30 am. CSPD says officers tried to pull a silver BMW SUV over, but the driver took off. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of the city of Lone Tree.

The chase only lasted a few moments, as the driver crashed into a curb at the intersection of N. Carefree Circle, and the vehicle was disabled.

The suspects ran. Police were able to catch two of them and arrested them on charges related to the stolen vehicle. Police say both suspects also have unrelated arrest warrants.

The men arrested have been identified as 20-year-old Andrew Thomas and 18-year-old E'Majin Willis-Tejan

Police have not released a description of the suspects who got away.
