CRAIG, Colo. -

Firefighters in northwestern Colorado are battling a new wildfire - a 300-acre blaze near Elk Springs.

The Elk Springs Fire started Saturday in windy conditions. It's burning near a ranch as well as oil and gas facilities and power lines.

Recent lightning strikes started other fires but it's not clear yet how this one started.

The new fire comes as crews work to finish containing the 32-square-mile Alkali Fire near Maybell and a 276-acre wildfire, the Carl's Hole Fire, about 30 miles west of Meeker.
