Black Forest murder victims identified

Kenneth Lankford, 46, arrested

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - The El Paso County Sheriffs Office identified the three people shot in Black Forest Saturday.

Terry Lankford, 51, and Carol Fowler, 51, were killed. Fowler's husband Thomas was also shot. He was in stable condition Sunday night.

The Fowlers were shot at their home in the 11,000 block of Timberlane Court according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

Lankford was killed at her home on Burrows Road.

Deputies arrested Kenneth Lankford, 46, after trying to pull him over early this morning and then chasing him down.

According to a relative of Lankford, Terry and Kenneth were married for several years.

Lankford is charged with two counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of first degree assault. He's being held without bond.
Residents in the Black Forest area were informed of the arrest around 7:30 this morning.

Lankford was spotted around 2 a.m. by a sheriff's deputy. He crashed his car following a pursuit then hid for about 5 hours before being spotted by deputies.

Deputies had blocked off Highway 83 east to Rex Road and County Line Road South to Hodgen Road and told people to stay in their homes while they searched for Lankford.
