CANON CITY, Colo. - Three people are behind bars after getting arrested for breaking into cars.
Fremont County Sheriff's office tells KRDO Newschannel 13 that Caleb Nathaniel Schuckert, age 18, Terrence Cedrick Williamson, age 22, and Stacy Eric Smith, age 19 were arrested monday morning. Canon City Police, earlier had received a report of car prowlers in a southwest Canon City neighborhood but were unable to locate anyone at the time. Early monday morning, Fremont County deputies responded to a residence on Bonnie Lane in the Lincoln Park area after a resident saw three subjects breaking into several vehicles. Shortly thereafter, a Canon City officer contacted a suspicious car at the Loaf n Jug at 9th Street and Royal Gorge Boulevard. Two occupants of the car were arrested by deputies after stolen property was observed in the car. A third suspect fled the area on foot but was later arrested at a residence in the 1000 block of Woodlawn. A loaded handgun stolen from a vehicle several weeks earlier was also recovered from the suspect's car.
All three are being held on 3,000 dollars bond.
