Child abuse suspect facing attempted murder charges

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Police say a man is facing attempted murder charges following an investigation into alleged child abuse.

Lee Kizer, 30, is facing charges of second degree attempted murder, crimes against at risk juveniles and child abuse.

Police say they began investigating Kizer after receiving a report of possible child abuse on August 4, 2014.

Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit investigated and say that Kizer was physically abusive to two boys, ages 13 and 14.

An arrest affidavit alleges that Kizer slapped the boys in the face hard enough to leave a mark, and that he dunked one of their heads in a toilet before holding him under running water in a bathtub.

The affidavit says one of the boys has special needs.

Aurora Deleon, 35, is facing charges of misdemeanor child abuse in connection to this case according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
