EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - Court proceedings continued on Monday for some of the 10 individuals arrested in connection with the murder of Derek Greer and Natalie Partida.
Angelita Prado and Carlos Meza were scheduled first to appear in court at around 1:30 p.m.
Meza took a plea deal. He pled guilty to a possession of a weapon charge and will be put on two years of supervised probation. Meza was facing three years in prison.
Prado is facing two counts of assault and two counts of kidnapping.
Prado's hearing was reset. She will be back in court on Monday. She's planning to accept a plea deal.
We are unaware of the specifics of the plea deal.
Following these two are Endo Velarde and Alander Wilson. They both face charges of attempt to influence a public official. They will be in court at around 3 p.m.
No plea agreement is in place for Wilson. He will have to return to court on August 28 to continue discussions.
Wilson is not in custody at this moment.
Velarde's hearing had to be rescheduled for September 5. He will have another hearing in January for other charges.
Exactly a week ago, Breanna Eloise Dahlberg another one of the suspects arrested in the case, pleaded guilty to false imprisonment.
The following five arrested in the investigation will be in court on Monday, July 31. Those include:
- Gustavo Marquez, 19
- Diego Chacon, 19
- Joseph Rodriguez, 18
- Alexandra Romero, 20
- Marco Garcia-Bravo, 20
Derek Greer, 15, and Natalie Partida, 16, were found dead on the shoulder of Old Pueblo Road just south of Fountain back in March.
