El Paso Co. man gets 14 yrs for using Play Station to trade child porn

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - A 36-year-old man from El Paso County was sentenced to 14 years on Wednesday after authorities discovered he was using his Play Station 3 to hid child pornography trading.

According to court documents, Allen LeRoy Simons, III, traded nearly 10,000 photos and videos of child pornography images through email. He also graphically discussed the sexual abuse of children in these emails.

By using the Play Station 3 to access the internet, Simons was able to hide his illegal conduct authorities.

Simons was also given 30 years of supervised release following the completion of his prison sentence and to pay $27,000 in restitution towards the victims.

Simons was indicted by a federal grand jury on May 3, 2016.  He pled guilty on August 1, 2016, and was sentenced on January 25, 2017.  At the time he was indicted by the federal grand jury, the defendant was on state probation for the sexual exploitation of a child.
