COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The family of Natalie Partida continues to grieve the loss of the 16-year-old girl. On Monday, dozens of people attended her emotional funeral.
For her family, the news of her murder is still hard to believe.
"When they told us the news of the way they found her and all this other stuff, that was shocking. I couldn't believe it in the beginning. I said, 'no this can't be for real,'" said her uncle, Thomas Negrette.
Her brother, Aaron Partida also commented about how her death has taken a toll on the family.
"She was the youngest of all of us and my mom is really devastated. We are all devastated, said Partida.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office arrested Gustavo Marquez, 19, on March 19 in connection to the murder of Partida and 15-year-old Derek Greer. He has been booked on two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of child abuse resulting in death.
Little other details have been released on the cause of death.
The visitation and funeral for Derek Greer are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
