Four arrested in Colorado Springs robbery spree, two face charges in liquor store clerk's death

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs police have arrested four people in connection with a robbery spree that in one case turned deadly. 

Dustin Cole Logan, 19, Phinehas Tyree Daniels, 18, and an unidentified 13-year-old were arrested March 2 by SWAT officers. On March 7, an additional arrest was made on a 16-year-old. The 16-year-old, charged with Aggravated Robbery, is currently behind bars for Sexual Assault. 

Investigators say the group was involved in at least seven instances of armed robbery in Colorado Springs, according to Colorado Springs Police Department Spokesperson  Lt. Howard Black.

Investigators said the incidents include: 

  • 7-Eleven store at 4325 S. Carefree Circle on Jan. 17
  • 7-Eleven store at 2350 Hancock Expressway on Jan. 18
  • Shell convenience store at 6445 Source Center Point on Jan. 18
  • 7-Eleven store at 1760 Shasta Drive on Jan. 27
  • Kum & Go store at 2422 Research Parkway on Feb. 6
  • 7-Eleven store at 331 S. Hancock Avenue on Feb. 6
  • Empire Liquors at 3381 N. Academy Boulevard on Feb. 15

Daniels and the 13-year-old were also arrested on a warrant for first-degree murder in connection with the death of Donat Herr, the owner of Empire Liquors, Black said.

Daniels' advisement hearing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
